Day 3 Finishes Strong Just In Time For Incoming Weather

Comments Off on Day 3 Finishes Strong Just In Time For Incoming Weather

Day Three of the 2015 Pacifico Belmar Pro continued the momentum of surprisingly fun and very contestable waves thanks to the long period swell from Tropical Storm Henri. Solid chest to shoulder high sets with glassy conditions held out for 3/4 of the day till the wind switched onshore in the afternoon and as the tide dropped, however, that did not hinder us from grinding out heats, ending just in time for a fresh nasty weather cell to march in on top of us!

Once again the chest high ramps sent every other competitor above the lip and on the rail with the top usual suspects putting in good heats. Today’s Highest Heat Score in the Pacifico Belmar Pro was by Jake Davis a 14.84 in Round 5, Heat 3. The highest Wave Score was by Kalani David an 8.33 in Round 4, Heat 7. The highest Heat Score and Wave Score in the Fins Pro Jr was by Matt Passaquindici a 15.33 and an 8.83 in Quarterfinal #4.

There’s still wave, glassy conditions this morning, and the final day of heats will begin shortly. Today we crown the 2015 champions.
