Team Championship Tournament F.A.Q.’ s
Who: Amateurs surfers. 3 divisions: 13 & under / 14-17yrs / 18+
What: Team format surf tournament. Format is a unique, original blend of
contest similar to The Game and the Red Bull Rivals. Official rules
explained at the “2013 Surfer’s Draft.”
Teams: To pick teams, tournament commissioners are conducting a “Surfer
Draft.” Kinda like the NFL draft, but better. Submit your entry
form knowing that you are declaring yourself eligible to be selected by any
team in the pool. 18yr+ surfers who wish to be considered for
player/coach status must make it known by ticking the box on their official
entry form. Commissioners aim to make 4-man teams but participation may
result in 3 or 5 man teams in some divisions.
When: The Draft is on Wednesday Sept 4th at 7pm at Stay Gold Cafe in
Belmar. Holding period for the Tournament is September 5-8th,.
The tournament format allows for the completion of the entire tournament in
one day & in most likely in less than 4 hours.
Where: TBA sandbar in Belmar on the day of the contest.
Why: Bragging rights, the fun of it, and CASH $$$ prize
Prizes: 13 & under – Trophies & Gift Certificates
14-17 yrs – $ 300 to winning team.
18+ (strict) – $ 500 to winning team
RULES: NO parents of competitors allowed near judges.
All participants must live Aloha at all times.
4-man teams / Div; 13 & under, 14-17 & 18+.
