The typical test of nerves did not disappoint once again as “just enough” 2ft SE swell and light winds hung in there throughout the event, but not without throwing some Murphy’s Law style chaos at us.
As day 2 progressed surprisingly fun, glassy waves made their way into the contest zone with milky waist high runners for most of the day with many waves ridden. So much so, that in one particular 20 minute 4-man heat a total of 39 waves were ridden, and, in a womens Semi heat 8-time Belmar Pro winner Cassidy McClain got the highest heat total of the day with an impressive 15.7.
